Jim has a B. S. in Chemistry with additional course work in biology, physics, and mathematics from Georgia Southwestern State University. He has extensive training in many areas including Industrial Hygiene, Hazard Communication, DOT Hazardous Materials Compliance, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Jim has an extensive background in the safety and environmental compliance fields including seventeen years experience with IMC, a major fertilizer and chemical corporation, and as a consultant since 1996.
Experience at IMC included operating a Quality Control laboratory, serving as a divisional Safety Supervisor, and managing the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Programs for the Rainbow Division of the company. Jim served on several corporate level committees that provided corporate wide input into compliance issues as well as representing the corporation on many trade association technical committees. Prior to joining IMC he managed the Analytical Department of the R&D Laboratory for a textile firm and ran a Quality Control Lab for a kaolin mining company.
At SafEnvirons, inc. Jim is focused on managing the company and environmental consulting. Projects include industrial storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), spill response plans, waste management, environmental compliance assessments, and Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments.
